League Rules

1.00

Teams should ideally consist of seven players, all playing one game of singles, however a team may play with six players and then redraw from those six players for the seventh player. In the event of this happening the player playing for a second time in the match will only count the result of their first game towards their individual record. However should they win the second game they play, it will count as one point towards the team’s total.

 2.00

The draw should be made in time for the match to commence at 7.30 p.m., the League Committee urges all teams to start their matches as early as possible.

 3.00

All players should be present at the time of the draw, however each Captain has the option to inform the other team of a player(s) who is returning from another British Darts Organisation event and will be arriving late, no other events will be covered within this rule.

 4.00

Games will be played in the order of the draw with the exception of a player covered in Rule 3.00 who will be allowed to play her game at the end of the match. If the player is not present at the end of the other games the opposing team’s player will receive a walkover win.

 4.01

In the event of a team playing with six players the match between the player who has been redrawn will be the last match played.

 5.00

Games will be the best of five legs, 501 straight start, under the playing rules of the British Darts Organisation. 

5.01

The away team will commence games 1, 3, 5 & 7 with the home team commencing games 2, 4 & 6. All legs in any one game to be played alternatively.

 6.00

The throwing distance will be 7’ 9 ¼” with the centre of the bull 5’ 8” from the floor.

 7.00

A raised oche must be provided at the 7’ 9 ¼” mark and should be at least 2” high and 2’ long. 

8.00

Players should stand at least 2’ behind the person throwing darts.

 9.00

The board must be of the bristle type and be in suitable condition for match play.

 10.00

A scoreboard (not electronic) must be visible to both players and the scores recorders at all times.

 11.00

No matches are to be cancelled with the exception of inclement weather. Matches can be re-arranged if both teams agree to another date, where possible the match should be played before the original date. Please inform the League Secretary of any changes. 

12.00

Points are awarded as follows :-

 12.01

One point is awarded per player winning an individual game. An additional two bonus points are awarded to the winning team. (I.e. a team winning 5 – 2 will receive a total of seven points and the losing team will get two points).

 12.02

If teams are level at the end of the season, the team with the most wins will be placed highest.

 12.03

If teams are still level, the team with the best leg difference will be placed highest.

 12.04

If teams are still level after this a play off will be necessary,

 13.00

The entrance fee payable by all teams is £50. Cheques should be made payable to Cambridgeshire Ladies Super League. Please send this to the Treasurer: Bridget Gostling 99 St Johns Road, Ely, Cambs. CB6 3BW

 13.01

The entry fee should be paid by the start of the season

 13.02

Each team will also have to pay a membership fee to the Cambridgeshire Darts Organisation. The fee for the forthcoming season is £50 per team and must be paid by the 1st January 2008. Cheques made payable to the Cambridgeshire Darts Organisation. Please send this to the Treasurer: Nadine Bentley 225 Empingham Road, Stamford, Lincs. PE9 2SP.

14.00

Both teams must post (first class if possible) their copy of the result sheet to the League Secretary the day following the match. The match result can be sent by e-mail to debbiemelton@hotmail.co.uk   

 15.00

Every player must complete an individual registration form and these should be returned to the League Secretary with the corresponding result sheet that the player has played in.

 15.01

Each team should send the majority of their player’s forms with their first result sheet.

 15.02

Additional players may be registered at any time during the season providing a registration form is sent to the League Secretary.

 16.00

No team will be allowed to start a match with less than five players.

 16.01

If a team is two players short, the opposing team shall have the right to nominate which of their own players they do not wish to enter in the draw, this is after one player has been redrawn as laid out in Rule 1.00.

 16.02

The team that is short will automatically lose the games that they do not have players for.

 16.03

The non-offending team should fill in the name of the player who they wish to receive the walkover win. This player will also receive a win on their individual record.

 17.00

No team will be allowed to enter the Leagues KO Cup unless they have a full team of seven players.

 18.00

Registrations for all competitions will begin 30 minutes before the published start time and will close after 20 minutes, the draw will take place in the remaining 10 minutes

 18.01

Players who are not in attendance (or have not contacted the League Secretary) by the time of the draw will not be eligible to play. This rule will be enforced !

 19.00

Any team wishing to make a proposal for an Annual General Meeting must do so in writing to the League Secretary, any such proposal must be received at least 14 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.

 19.01

All proposals that meet the criteria will then be sent to every team for their consideration prior to the Annual General Meeting.

 19.02

All proposals will need a seconder at the Annual General Meeting before the proposal can be debated and voted on.

 20.00

At the Annual General Meeting each team will only be allowed one vote and this must be cast with a voting card that will be supplied. No team will have a proxy vote.

 21.00

Whilst the loser of a dart match traditionally offers to buy the victor a drink, this will be at the discretion of each player and any person losing their game should not feel obliged to buy the victor a drink.

 

Any matters not covered in these rules will be decided by the League Committee who may consult with the County Executive Committee.
